This project aims to improve care for people with&nbsp;<strong>chronic and complex wounds<\/strong>&nbsp;in a highly vulnerable context, integrating clinical care, professional training, and patient safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clinic is named&nbsp;<strong>Elena Schroder<\/strong> <strong>Vilar&nbsp;<\/strong>in honor of her life, her healthcare vocation, and her commitment to caring for others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who was Elena Schr\u00f6der Vilar? A legacy that continues to heal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elena was deeply passionate about&nbsp;<strong>community pharmacy, orthopedics, and wound care<\/strong>. Faced with this horror, her family, Jannu Ferides and the professional community decided to join forces and respond in the most transformative way possible:&nbsp;<strong>to create a project that heals, educates and protects<\/strong>. Because caring is also a form of resistance, and healing is sometimes a form of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specialized care for chronic and complex wounds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Elena Schr\u00f6der Vilar Wound Care Clinic<\/strong>, located at the Cure Hospital in Kabul, provides care for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>People with chronic, hard-to-heal wounds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children and adults with complex injuries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patients with ostomies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complications from reconstructive surgery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wounds at high risk of infection or skin deterioration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The care model emphasizes&nbsp;<strong>prevention of complications<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>advanced wound treatment<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>patient safety<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>skin integrity<\/strong>, always adapting to the local context and available resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International teleconsultation for complex wounds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the key pillars of the project is&nbsp;<strong>remote support from Barcelona<\/strong>, through a&nbsp;<strong>specialized teleconsultation system for complex wounds<\/strong>, enabling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Continuous clinical support for local professionals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evidence-based decision-making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical training through real cases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guidance in high-complexity situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Telemedicine becomes a powerful tool to reduce inequalities and ensure continuity of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Professional training and patient safety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clinic will also serve as a&nbsp;<strong>training and knowledge transfer center<\/strong>.
